Waterway route planner

Route planner for rivers, canals and lakes

A long press on the map sets the destination. The phone computes the route over the waterways itself, with locks, weirs and bridges, offline up to 600 km.

  • Locks with opening hours, phone, radio channel and chamber size, one per chamber at twin locks.
  • Bridges with clearance where OpenStreetMap has it. Weirs and hydro plants with their own symbol.
  • Motorboat or canoe. Access rules are read in tiers: access, then boat, then motorboat or canoe. The more specific wins, blocked stretches show red.
  • Across lakes too, such as the Müritz.
  • Distance and consumption. Every route gives the distance and the estimated need in Ah. With a Bluetooth BMS on the battery the range comes live.
  • Map data on the device. All of Europe is 1376 tiles and 176 MB, a 150 km radius about 3.4 MB. Without tiles the app routes via Overpass up to 60 km.
  • Save, share, follow. A dashed line leads to the start, then along the course.

The data comes from OpenStreetMap. Depths are not in it, clearances only at some bridges. The route is a suggestion, not a fairway.
